Welcome to the University of Edinburgh Farm Animal Practice. Situated in the beautiful county of Midlothian in Scotland, our veterinary practice caters to a wide range of farm animals. From camalids to cattle, pigs to poultry, sheep to goats, our team of experienced vets is well-equipped to handle any health concern that your animal may have.
Our practice is located in the pleasant town of Roslin, easily accessible by car and public transportation. We have a convenient client car park and offer disabled public access to all areas of the practice. We understand that your animal’s health is a priority, and we aim to make your visit as stress-free and comfortable as possible.
Our practice is open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. We are closed on weekends, but we have an emergency service available for our clients, which can be accessed by calling our practice number.
Our veterinary team is made up of qualified professionals, dedicated to providing the highest standards of care for your animals. Our department of veterinary surgeons is led by principal Dr Alastair Macrae. Dr Macrae holds several qualifications, which include BVM&S, CertSHP, PhD, DCHP, DipECBHM, DipECSRHM, and FRCVS. Alongside Dr Macrae are Dr Alexander Corbishley, Miss Julie Forrest, Mr Andrew Hopker, and Dr Robert Kelly. Each member of our veterinary team has vast experience in handling different farm animals and is committed to providing individualized care to ensure the best treatment for your animal.
At the University of Edinburgh Farm Animal Practice, our facilities are equipped with the latest technology and equipment, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment for your animals. Our services include routine health checks, vaccinations, and parasite control. For more complex cases, we offer laboratory testing, as well as surgical and medical treatments.
We are passionate about helping farmers, large and small, achieve optimum health and welfare for their animals. Our practice takes a special interest in promoting animal welfare, and we endeavor to keep our clients informed of the best practices in animal husbandry.
